For the Work Capacity Test, you will need loose, comfortable clothing and running shoes. We also suggest packing a lunch as lunch is not provided.

Q: Does completing and passing the Basic Firefighter or Annual Refresher training guarantee employment with Firestorm?
A: No, completing Firestorm’s training does not guarantee employment. However, Firestorm does the majority of it’s hiring out of our training courses.
Q: Who issues my certificate?
A: When you complete and pass a Firestorm training course you will receive two certificates. One certificate is issued by the National Wildfire Suppression Association whom has a memorandum of understanding with the National Wildland Coordination Group (NWCG) to provide training (visit www.nwsa.us for more information). Firestorm’s instructors are all certified through the NWSA to provide this training. You will also receive a certificate directly from Firestorm. All courses meet or exceed NWCG standards.
Q: Will I be issued a Red Card?
A: The only course that issues a Red Card is the RT-130 Annual Refresher for Equipment Operators. Firestorm has the ability to generate a red card from the NWSA for this qualification. Firestorm does not issue Red Cards for completion of the Basic Wildland Firefighter training or the RT-130 Annual Refresher for firefighters. Red Cards are company specific. If you are hired by Firestorm, then we will issue you a Red Card at that time. If you are hired by another agency, you will be able to provide them with your certificates and they will issue you their company specific Red Card.
Q: Who issues the CPR and 1st Aid cards?
A: All training is provided through the American Safety & Health Institute which is nationally recognized for their sound training program. ASHI maintains compliance with multiple agencies including National Registry of EMTs, Department of Labor/OSHA and others.
Q: Where do I find Pre-course work?
A: Please use the NWCG Online Pre-Course Work link to the left under 2010 Training Catalog
